Icelandic Lava Trek

Event Date: 05 Jul 2015

My personal message

Iceland is home to some of Europe's greatest wilderness areas, which are home to active volcanoes, sheer cliffs, glaciers, thundering waterfalls, steaming lava field, plunging fjords, boiling mud pools and spouting geysers.

Our challenge is to walk the Landmannalaugar route through one of the most actively volcanic areas in Iceland.

Although this is only a short trek, it is apparently extremely challenging........The days are long, the terrain is difficult and we will be walking over 60km in 3 days.

Chai Cancer Care provides comprehensive, professional and expert services to any member of the Jewish community affected by a cancer diagnosis – patients, their families and friends. Every week hundreds of people walk into one of Chai’s 10 centres across the UK and benefit from the wide range of services on offer to cancer patients and their loved ones. Services are available to all members of the Jewish community regardless of age, type of cancer, stage of the disease or financial means.

The combination of earlier diagnosis and better treatments mean more people are living longer with cancer. As Chai’s national reputation has grown, so has the demand for their services. Chai is actively supporting over 2000 clients across the country and the number is growing by the month. In order to meet the increasing demand for its services, Chai is completely dependent on the generosity of our community.
